Setting Autumn Goals
Since I was little, the rhythm of my life has followed a cadence marked by the changing seasons. Twice a year, without fail, I’ve embarked on a journey of self-reflection. My first pause happens in September, when the world undergoes a gentle transformation, shedding the vibrant summer as autumn approaches. The second, more globally celebrated journey unfolds on New Year’s when the world collectively turns over a new leaf.
Here are some of the goals that this summer inspired in me:
- Nurture myself through self-care rituals
Summer is not without its windy and adventurous days, leaving our hair in tangles and our skin dry. During those moments, I realized that self-care knows no time constraints: it’s an everyday commitment. This autumn, I intend to dedicate time to rejuvenating self-care rituals. Be it a leisurely walk in the rustling leaves, cozying up with a good book and a cup of tea, or simply indulging in some self-reflective journaling, these small acts of self-love will become the foundation upon which I build the season ahead.
- Embracing Life’s Beautiful Mess
Life, much like the autumn leaves, can be beautifully messy. In the pursuit of my autumn goals, I’ve learned to embrace this truth. Rather than seeking perfection, I intend to welcome the everyday messiness of life – the unexpected twists, the delightful surprises, and even the occasional setbacks.
- Savoring the Everyday
Amid life’s grand tapestry, it’s easy to overlook the beauty in the everyday. This autumn, I want to savor small moments—the first sip of my cappuccino, the laughter of loved ones, the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze.
Each season offers unique gifts, and autumn’s promise of change and transformation is no exception. I invite you to join me in setting autumn goals—a practice that celebrates growth, self-discovery, and the constant evolution of our beautiful lives.
